Who We Are

Beyond Barriers Generational Foundation (BBGF)

Beyond Barriers Generational Foundation (BBGF) is a nonprofit organization founded by Virgil Hill Jr., son of Olympians Virgil Hill Sr. and Denean Hill. Inspired by his own journey—from a young athlete in California to being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009—Hill Jr. saw how access, mentorship, and faith shaped his life. BBGF was born from his mission to give every child that same chance to thrive.

What We Do

Many young athletes face overwhelming financial hurdles that block their path to success. Expensive registration fees, equipment costs, and travel expenses keep them from joining teams or improving their skills.

Beyond Barriers Generational Foundation bridges that gap by providing scholarships, coaching programs, and mentorship to aspiring youth athletes across the U.S.

Through partnerships with professional athletes, trainers, schools, and faith leaders, we bring high-quality sports programs to under-served communities. We not only nurture athletic ability but also teach confidence, leadership, and faith-driven purpose.

Our Approach

Accessibility

Every child deserves a fair shot at organized sports and structured mentorship.

Faith & Character

We integrate biblical principles and moral development to build strong, grounded individuals.

Long-Term Impact

Our programs don’t end on the field—they prepare youth for life, education, and future careers.

Meet Our Staff

Our dedicated team comprises coaches, mentors, and community leaders who share a passion for empowering youth.

Together, we create pathways for young athletes to reach their full potential—spiritually, academically, and athletically.
